![]() Additionally, the rules for reinforcements are always in effect, even if you have them turned off. Hallways also come in different sizes and shapes, from long and straight to short and twisted. ![]() Scouting doesn't work as usual, either: you don't get to see where the fights are. ![]() ![]() You can't see the entire map as usual rooms will be scouted as you move forward. Unlike the usual random dungeons, the Dungeon Map layout and all fights in the Darkest Dungeon are scripted. All these penalties mean that, regardless of difficulty every Hero will most likely go on a mission only once, so choose your composition wisely. On Radiant difficulty, Heroes can be reused for subsequent expeditions into the Darkest Dungeon, but at a very high cost - they will immediately enter with 80 Stress, and their Virtue chance will be reduced to the bare minimum of 1%. Additionally, Marked Heroes will not occupy a slot in the roster, meaning you can recruit 4 more without dismissing anyone or having anyone die. However, even though they cannot be used in the Darkest Dungeon again, they can still be a major asset to you: it's still possible to send them on other quests, and they grant additional resolve XP to all other party members from then on. Such Heroes are marked by a torch in a Hero roster and candles on their stat page. You should also be aware that you cannot retreat at all during the game's final quest.Ĭharacters who successfully complete a quest in the Darkest Dungeon will - on Darkest / Stygian difficulty - refuse to go back ever again. If you must flee, unequip all Trinkets before abandoning the quest to avoid losing them. However, if there is only 1 party member left, they will escape safely. You can't easily retreat from the Darkest Dungeon, either, should things go south: when you retreat, a random party member will die (representing them holding off the monsters to buy their comrades time to escape). Almost every attack will induce stress, every blight and bleed deals high damage, and every encounter has a good chance to be the last. I see what you are saying, the idea that on mobile, people's values are different.First and foremost - the Darkest Dungeon is nothing like the challenges you’ve faced before. I'll see a game at one price on mobile and anywhere between x2-x5 price on steam. If, like you say, the mobile version is in fact, an inferior version, then I can understand that.īut I've seen this pattern again and again with dozens of games. If it's the same game, why is it so much more expensive on pc than on mobile? I know devs deserve to be paid for their work, but if you want people to pay $59.99 for your game when there's a dozen similar games that can be gotten for $19.99, then you have to really set your game apart from the others.īut I've notied that pretty much every single AA title, at launch(and pre-order, which is the dumbest thing ever), will always be $59.99, regardless of how good the game is, if it's a AAA publisher, it will be $59.99.īut I digress, since this thread is not meant to be about AAA titles.Īnd yeah, I got this on sale for $10 quite a while back, so i'm not some person sitting on the fence complaining that I want this game and don't want to pay for it. $25 for a AAA title is pushing it, im my mind. Meanwhile, this is an indie title and IMO, $25 for an indie title IS expensive. Why is $5 "expensive" for a mobile game, but $25 is standard for a pc game. Game may be stripped of some stuff to save space, like Minecraft poket edition. Originally posted by Leoscar:Because 5 dollars is already expensive for a mobile game.
